About the Role

The facilities coordinator will perform and oversee all building maintenance, repair, and improvements at two Movement facilities in the San Francisco Bay Area. Additionally, the facilities coordinator will support the Bay Area facilities team as needed at our two other Bay Area locations. The position will work closely with the Bay Area Gym Directors and report directly to the Facilities Department Manager.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Directly support two Movement facilities as the primary Facility Coordinator
    • Perform routine and as needed maintenance, repair, and improvement projects
    • Manage and maintain an inventory of spare parts
    • Support and cultivate a safe, clean, and pleasant gym environment
  • Manage your personal workflow
    • Review task lists for designated gyms using Asana project management software
    • Meet with Lead Facilities Coordinator to prioritize and schedule tasks
    • Ensure efficient progress across gyms
  • Maintain positive working relationships with property owners or management companies
    • Communicate project scope and timelines
    • Maintain compliance with lease obligations
  • Support the Facilities Team with larger maintenance and improvement projects
    • Assist the Lead Facilities Coordinator in defining project scope and process
    • Work alongside vendors as needed to complete tasks
  • Coordinate with other gym departments
    • Train and oversee Ops team members to assist with facilities tasks as needed

What you’ll bring with you

Gotta have:

  • A broad experience in facility maintenance including but not limited to plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and finish work
  • A basic understanding of building assemblies and building systems
  • A basic understanding of climbing wall structures
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • A strong self-starting work ethic and attention to detail
  • Reliable personal transportation and valid Driver’s License
  • Comfortable working at height – ladder and rope access
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Bonus points for:

  • Ability to read and interpret building plans and technical drawings
  • Experience maintaining rock climbing walls and climbing safety equipment
  • Technical expertise in one or more building trade (1+ years of work experience)
  • A college degree in management or a construction/engineering/design related discipline
  • Work at heights or other relevant certification

Additional Details

  • This is a full-time position
  • Compensation for this role starts at $25.00/hour, or commensurate with experience
  • This role is based in our Sunnyvale and Santa Clara locations – applicants will be assigned a primary location but must be available to work at all regional locations
