POSITION SUMMARY (Basic purpose or primary function of job)
The Azure Administrator position has direct hands-on responsibility that includes providing technical expertise in deploying software applications on Microsoft Azure. The Azure Administrator must be able to perform systems troubleshooting and problem resolution. Implement solutions, create documentation and describe technical solutions. High standards of accountability, customer focus, and quality of deliverables are vital to the success of this position. Must be willing to share knowledge with other department members throughout the organization. This role will continuously monitor the health of services such as Azure AD, AIP, ATP, ASR, CAS, EM+S, Teams, Intune, AAD Connect, Exchange Online and O365. The role will forecast and manage the load demand of apps hosted on the Azure platform and assure that data is secured, access is secured, and that applications and their data are backed up. The Azure Administrator will design, deploy, implement, configure, and maintain various Azure IaaS Virtual Machines, Hosted Platforms, Software Applications, Security protocols, and Networking services.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (Principal responsibilities or job duties)
- Ability to provide Tier 2 and 3 IT Support
- Manage Azure applications like Databases, App Services, Logic Apps, function Apps, etc.
- Solid understanding of Office 365 management and administration
- Implement, monitor and maintain Azure solutions related to Storage, Networking, and Security
- Deploy and maintain PaaS & SaaS enterprise application for environments hosted on cloud infrastructure.
- Manage Azure AD infrastructure and collaborate with various teams to ensure it integrates seamlessly with all components including network, security, and remote access.
- Identify and generate solutions to current problems in the organization. Research, adopt and relate new technologies to solve issues that arise while adhering to company security and standards.
- Manage networking infrastructure (LAN, WAN, VPN) and protocols (TCP/IP), security protocols, manage backup and restoration of files, databases, and virtual machines.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Azure environment performance issues, connectivity issues and security issues.
- Provide technical guidance for database administrators and software developers relating to Azure infrastructure for hosted business applications.
- Be the escalation point for other IT Systems Service and Support team member, and keep all tickets and projects tracked and updated.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
- Audit and improve existing system configurations (all systems in the IT umbrella, both Microsoft ecosystem and beyond)
- Develop mechanisms and automation for deploying projects and configuration changes across the various environments.
- Experience identifying and troubleshooting cloud service events and issues as well as working with cloud service providers to efficiently solve issues or implement workarounds
- Experience implementing and maintaining cloud solutions including initial and ongoing configuration of related automation, notifications, and reporting capabilities
- Office 365 management and administration
- Broad working knowledge of systems integration, computer system architecture, and peripheral equipment. Broad functional knowledge of telecommunications (voice and data) equipment including VoIP/SIP, data communications protocols, microcomputers, Wide Area and Local Area Networks and telecommunications experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience and training
