Job Summary

The FP&A function provides senior management with forward looking projections, forecasts and analysis of F&G's financial results and operating performance, connecting strategy to performance. The FP&A team has a significant contribution to the successful setting of F&G financial targets and the ultimate achievement of them. They also enable management to credibly communicate with external stakeholders. The FP&A team partners to bring together all of the work of the deeply technical teams across finance, actuarial, investments, reinsurance and the lines of business to deliver value-added business analysis and metrics in support of enterprise-wide decision making. This team will have a comprehensive understanding of all key business performance drivers and sophisticated financial models.

The AVP, FP&A - Performance Reporting & Analysis (PRA) position is responsible for leading the development of a best-in-class, scalable FP&A performance analytics and management reporting center of excellence to provide high quality deliverables to senior management and external audiences.

This position reports to the VP, FP&A - GAAP Forecast & Analysis and will have 3-4 direct reports. This position will support the SVP, Investor & External Relations and other teams including but not limited to finance, actuarial, investments, reinsurance, capital and finance business partners. This position will also interact with all levels of Finance, including the senior leadership team and CFO.

Duties and Responsibilities

This position is responsible for leading development of a best-in-class, scalable FP&A performance analytics and management reporting center of excellence

  • Provide high quality financial packages tailored to audience; present persuasively and synthesize complex concepts to create analysis & messages that are clear and credible
  • Set standards for key performance metric definitions and effective presentation collateral
  • Harness technology to drive automation and efficient delivery
  • Oversee production and distribution of FP&A management reports, considering material nonpublic information (MNPI) and Regulation Fair-Disclosure (Reg F-D) requirements
  • Drive deeper understanding of FP&A team function and requirements across F&G

This position will lead FP&A delivery of high-quality Executive management presentations, telling the story on financial results and projections to CEO, MC, FNF (parent Company) and Boards in support of internal and external messaging

  • Lead development of Executive presentations regarding F&G business updates and financial performance
  • Lead delivery of FP&A business decision support, including ad hoc analysis of complex financial business issues that impact the organization
  • Review and when needed contribute to the build of monthly and quarterly financial results with a lens to support internal and external messaging
  • The position will lead FP&A deliveries to the VP Finance Business Partner roles, serving as primary liaison between other FP&A teams to ensure a holistic and consistent delivery model
  • Partner to provide recurring and ad hoc analysis to assist business decision making, highlighting effect(s) on F&G's ability to achieve results
  • Partner to identify performance drivers of corporate and line of business results; demonstrate through predictive driver-based models, analysis and dashboards
  • Participate in strategic initiatives, as appropriate, to understand and forecast impacts
  • Serve as champion for a single version of truth and cohesive messaging of financial performance across corporate and line of business deliveries

The position will serve to support Finance delivery to the SVP Investor and External Relations, partnering to articulate F&G's strategy and financial performance to key constituents, such as sell-side analysts, equity and debt investors, rating agencies and regulators

  • Serve as a contact to SVP IR/ER for F&G business performance, drivers and forecasts intel, to ensure credible, aligned and relevant messaging
  • Support SVP IR/ER on process oversight and development of materials for quarterly and annual earnings cycle materials, board presentations, investor meetings and conferences, investor day events, regulator and rating agency surveillance calls, and Institutional diligence collateral
  • Partner on oversight of F&G's 'Investors' public website and lead facilitation of F&G financial press release publication and content posting process with appropriate governance between Legal, Corporate Communications, SVP IR/ER & Solebury
  • Partner with SVP IR/ER on targeted peer company, industry and competitor analysis to help manage F&G business and to respond to industry issues and concerns on a timely basis

Experience and Education Requirements

      • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Actuarial or related field
      • 10+ years related professional experience in financial reporting and/or financial planning & analysis required
      • 4+ years experience leading a team
      • CPA or MBA required
      • Big-4 Audit Experience highly desirable
      • Significant insurance experience highly desirable
      • Knowledge of annuity and life insurance products preferred
      • Knowledge of accounting practices and principles
      • Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint required
      • Experience with general ledgers, databases and report writing is desired
