GEICO Staff Counsel is searching for a PIP Attorney to join our growing team - Law Office of Haydee De La Rosa-Tolfyesi, located in Coral Gables/Miami, FL, is seeking an attorney to defend PIP lawsuits filed in Florida courts and other first-party insurance defense matters.

Responsibilities:

• Conducting legal research and drafting legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda.

• Providing opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department.

• Preparing and handling pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions/examinations before trial and examinations under oath, and defending by trial or dispositive hearing, all matters assigned, as applicable.

• Travelling as required, including to attend trials, hearings, depositions, management meetings, and conferences.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.

• Admitted to the Florida Bar and licensed in good standing to practice law in Florida.

• 1-3 years of Civil litigation experience preferred.

• Insurance defense-related litigation experience preferred.

• Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the telephone, and through written correspondence.

• Strong organizational, priority setting, and multi-tasking skills.

• Ability to learn and apply technical and procedural information quickly and accurately.

• Must meet and maintain licensing requirements, including mandatory Continuing Legal Education (CLE) requirements.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal research databases.

Location – HYBRID: Must reside in the tri-county area; Miami-Dade County, Broward County and West Palm Beach County.
