Associate Scientist - Biological Materials and Processing Job at UES, Inc.
UES, Inc. is in immediate need of an Associate Scientist to join the Biological Materials and Processing Research Team at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Assist in the design of experiments, collect, and analyze samples from a variety of sources.
- Examine how microorganisms interact with materials and/or how microbial processes can produce novel materials.
- Assist as needed in general laboratory tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related field.
- 1 year experience in a laboratory environment such as, pipetting, preparation for reagents for micro or molecular biology, biology techniques.
- Experience in the production and purification of recombinant proteins in bacterial systems; microbial processes associated with bio cementation.
- Demonstrated strong quantitative and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated strong customer service skills, collaboration skills and working in a team environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with FPLC instrumentation, preferred
- This position is working within a government facility requiring US Citizenship and the ability to obtain security clearance.
