is looking for an Associate Representative, Customer Service to join our Team, located in Evansville, IN.

You will have the ability to you will provide customer service support answering inquiries via phone and email for our electric and natural gas customers according to established department policies and procedures.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Responds to all questions relating to all Company customer service inquiries via verbal and/or written communication with a focus on one call resolution.
  • Represent Company in a professional manner at all times when interacting with customers. Handle all contact types in compliance to Indiana/Ohio Utility Regulatory Commission rules and regulations. Handle customer requests via phone effectively and expediently, including requests for customer and account updates, payment plans, and other customer inquiries. Respond to billing inquiries and educate customers how to manage and decrease energy consumption.
  • Respond with urgency to all emergency calls, such as gas leaks, power outages, and other unsafe situations. Effectively convey the urgency to the service group for rapid response. Provide after-hours support handling high volume emergency calls during a major gas and/or electric incident. As required, perform other related duties as assigned.
  • The Customer Service department is committed to providing a favorable experience to all customers. Part of being able to deliver on this commitment is to properly staff the Contact Center to meet customer demand. To ensure the Contact Center is properly staffed, voluntary and scheduled overtime may be necessary based on forecasted call volumes and other contributing factors.
  • Achieve individual performance results in alignment with individual, departmental, and corporate objectives.

Your background includes:

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED
  • Requires a minimum of 1 year customer interaction experience, preferably one year in a high-volume call center environment, with a proven history of professionally and effectively resolving customer concerns.
