Job Description:
The successful Assistant Director of Production will oversee all areas of the production process at the assigned location so that approved products are packaged on-schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives. This role leads the plant organization to improve the overall production process, product quality, cost outcomes, and culture.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the manufacture of finished goods, ensuring production, performance and quality standards are consistently met.
  • Ensures a healthy and safe working environment, and compliance with federal and state regulations, through collaboration with environmental, health, and safety staff.
  • Works with Production Management to coordinate plant activities to ensure manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Delivers progress and production reports such as but not limited to capacity and forecast planning to leadership as requested.
  • Provides analytical and data driven support to the Director of Production as requested. Establish quantitative and qualitative metrics, guidelines, and standards by which the company's efficiency and effectiveness can be evaluated; identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Leads coordination and integration of efforts among operations, engineering, technology, and customer service divisions to produce smoother workflow and more cost-effective business processes. This is especially applicable to new product launches.
  • Assist in hiring, training, developing, and evaluating Mechanical staff to include performance management, conflict resolution, discipline, and coaching.
  • Proactively facilitates team performance by eliminating potential barriers and obstacles. Exhibits a strong drive and determination to troubleshoot issues and drive process enhancements where applicable.
  • Supervises equipment purchase, maintenance, and layout.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product specifications, advancements in engineering technology, and developments in production processes.
  • Assist with the management of asset maintenance.

Qualification Required:

  • 10+ years leading a matrixed manufacturing facility
  • Six sigma/Lean manufacturing Certification & Training
  • Must have packaging, manufacturing, or food production background with FDA regulatory experience.
  • Mechanical Engineering Degree
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking
  • · Demonstrated record of team building, mentoring and change management.
  • · Strong leadership skills

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year

Schedule:
