Position Summary

VUMC TempForce has opportunities for Clinical Supply Specialists. In this role you will be responsible for delivering supplies and equipment to the nursing units throughout the hospital. On a daily basis the SC's can distribute over 600 orders of supplies and equipment throughout the hospital. Daily responsibilities include: stocking of nursing units, a total of 1,970 lines nightly, with an average of 282 lines per staff member, low stock and refill of supply cells daily, supply room maintenance, pulling parcel for night orders for all supply cells

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides materials and equipment requested in a timely manner.
  • Assembles carts for distribution.
  • Ensures supplies are in a clean and safe working condition and environment. Maintains adequate supply in storage locations.
  • Cleans, prepares, and tests specialty beds or equipment for safety.
  • May capture patient charges for supplies.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES:

EQUIPMENT INSPECTIONS (NOVICE):- Reviews and Inspections is a systematic process of checking to see whether a piece of equipment is meeting specified requirements.

INVENTORY MANAGEMENT (NOVICE):- Monitors material movement into and out of stock, reconciles inventory balances, and maintains adequate inventory levels.

CUSTOMER SERVICE (NOVICE):- A continuing focus on the needs and requirements of customers, anticipating their needs, remaining sensitive to customers while performing services for them, responsive to customer needs.


Education

High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience) and < 1 year relevant experience

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration (LCR):

  • Physical Requirements/Strengths needed & Physical Demands:
    • Medium Work category requiring exertion up to 50lbs of force occasionally and/or up to 20 of force frequently and/or up to 10 of force continually to move objects.
