POSITION SUMMARY: The person selected for this position will be responsible for the oversight of afterschool program operations and staff supervision alongside the Program Director. Please note this is a Part-Time position, Monday-Friday 12:00pm-6:00pm (approx. 20-25 hours per week). This position also requires travel and reliable transportation.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):

  • Maintain files and records and assist with administrative tasks as directed
  • Maintain attendance records
  • Work closely with accounts receiveable on applications and tutution payments
  • Parent Coordination, as needed and as directed, by Program Director and Director of Operations.
  • Maintain a postive and professional relationships with partnering school administration
  • Supervise participants and staff to ensure well-rounded programming is being provided.
  • Assist with participant arrival and dismissal, as needed
  • Communication with participants and families as required
  • Model, enforce, teach and develop age appropriate social, physical and emotional behaviors, as applicable
  • Employ positive behavior management strategies for both staff and partcipants
  • Demonstrate positive leadership and act as a positive role model to participants and staff
  • Participate in ongoing professional development
  • Abide by all safety protocols as outlined by Department of Health/OCFS, DYCD and UAU

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-2 years supervisory experience required
  • 2+ years of experience working with children, required
  • Associate's degree, required. Bachelor's degree, preferred.
  • Must be culturally competent - ability to understand, be sensitive to the needs of, communicate with and effectively interact with people across cultures
  • Must pass reference checks and background screenings
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and mathematical skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct and complete work independently
  • Willing to take initiative and be flexible when needed
  • Excels working in a collaborative environment to achieve target objects and outcomes

  • Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need.
  • Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.
  • Position is in a well-lighted office environment.
  • Involves sitting approximately 20% of the day, walking or standing the remainder.
  • Travel required everyday to a variety of locations throughout Staten Island. Reimbursement is provided.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for at least 50% of the time.
  • May include working prolonged periods of time sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • The ability to observe details at close range (withing a few feet or more of the observer).
  • Fully vaccinated for COVID-19

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
