EMPLOYMENT TERMS: Nine-month, tenure-track position

PRIMARY DUTY: *We are seeking a tenure-track faculty member capable of teaching a variety of undergraduate level geology courses. Preference will be given to candidates who are capable of teaching paleontology and/or incorporate field experiences into coursework. A strong candidate should be comfortable teaching entry-level general geology and earth science courses. Recruitment of geology majors, academic advisement, and mentoring of undergraduate research are considered essential duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Teach 24-26 credits (variety of undergraduate level geology courses) per year with seven weekly office hours.
  • Teach and develop course material pertinent to teaching load including electronic materials for use in CANVAS.
  • Recruit geology majors.
  • Advise undergraduate students.
  • Mentor undergraduate research.
  • Serve the department and the university on committees as assigned.
  • Develop and maintain a modest amount of scholarly research.

Education: Ph.D.
