Position Summary: The candidate will be responsible for maintaining the highest level of quality by providing personal care services, assistance, support, evaluation, and supervision to residents as needed. Flexibility is essential in this role, including on-call responsibilities and occasional weekends and holidays.

Essential Duties:

  • Work with a team to update service plans for residents.
  • Assume responsibilities in absence of Director of Nursing.
  • Coordinate services to meet the health needs of the residents and promote wellness.
  • Perform pre-admission assessments of potential new residents.
  • Help supervise, train, schedule and/or oversee all nursing aides
  • Establish and maintain resident records according to State and Federal guidelines.
  • With the support of DON, assume on-call responsibilities and address medical emergencies as they arise.
  • Maintain an accurate record of chargeable services and submit record to supervisor by the designated date each month.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, eating, hygiene and mobility.
  • Assist residents with oxygen, ostomies, and other medical problems as outlined in the assistance plan.
  • Participate in direction and monitoring of medications and other tasks through R.N. delegation.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Nursing license in the state (RN preferred; may consider LPN based upon leadership structure)
  • CPR Certification, preferred
  • Experience working with older adults in a resident-centered care role
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and training the nursing staff, ensuring all staff is properly certified
  • Excellent assessment, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to treat all residents with respect and integrity
  • Capable of reading speaking, and understanding the English language
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted
