WHO YOU ARE

As the Assistant Controller you will assist with the management of the accounting, auditing and financial reporting for the organization. The position includes managing the general accounting team, assisting with audit preparation, reconciliation of general ledger accounts, and compliance with all government regulations.

WHERE YOU WILL WORK

At our state-of-the-art world headquarters, in modern, and thriving Lake Nona, Florida. The position is Hybrid. Working remote Mon and Fri and in the office Tues-Thurs

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Manage the general accounting team and the various financial systems and integrations
  • Close the ledgers each period and the monitoring of GL activity including reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports
  • Prepare full consolidated financials including cash flow
  • Ensure all accounting practices are following Sarbanes-Oxley, legal guidelines and established accounting principles
  • Assist with tax, audit, and ancillary financial documentation as needed
  • Manage, comply, monitor and if needed, improve internal controls and policies
  • Collaborate with the IT department to maintain financial records and system processes
  • Identify solutions to discrepancies in financial records
  • Manage financial setups in the ERP system
  • Recommend changes in methods or procedures to improve the efficiency of the accounting department
  • Manage staff through recruiting, hiring, organizational design, career development, training, coaching & mentoring, performance reviews and job description development

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • CPA (preferred), MBA, or CMA
  • 10+ years of management experience for a large, publicly traded or private sector, multi-state manufacturing corporation.
  • Experience with Infor LN ERP and Board.com preferred
  • Excellent analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and high confidence in stating professional opinions
  • Advanced understanding of general ledger designs and financial system structures
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Skilled in time management and the ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks
  • Highly adaptive to a changing environment
  • Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, and corporate procedures/regulations.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, margins, variances, break-even, etc.
