Round Hill Club located in Greenwich, CT is looking for an assistant controller to support the controller through the preparation and maintenance of accounting transactions and reports which may include general accounting, costing or budget data. This position also coordinates all aspects of member billing, assists with the administration of Human Resources, and spearheads major department projects on an as needed basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Member Billing
    • Maintain accurate member records
    • Reconciliation of member charges
  • Preparation and distribution of monthly statements
    • Mailing of reminder or suspension letters on delinquent member accounts
    • Works with GM, Controller, and Treasurer on past dues
  • Dues and Assessments
  • Special Fee Billings
  • Private Event Billing
  • Bank Reconciliations
  • Reconciliation of operating and payroll bank accounts
  • Follow-up of outstanding items
  • Discuss open items with the Controller
  • Process month end Journal Entries directed by Controller
  • Assist controller in preparation of monthly financial statements
  • Assist with annual budget
  • Assist in the development of policies, procedures and systems pertaining to financial matters within the department
  • Assist controller with special projects including but not limited to – Payroll Company Transition,
  • Insurance Renewal / Audits
  • Assist with monthly and annual closing process
  • Assist with year-end audit
  • Maintenance of financial schedules as needed
  • Complies with club’s policies and procedures as established in the employee handbook
  • Adhere to all federal, state and local laws

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and maintaining general ledgers.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy preparing and entering financial data into data bases
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Five to seven years of related experience
  • Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to work unsupervised and meet deadlines on a timely basis
  • Experience with Jonas software
  • Accounting experience in a Private Club or Hotel

Physical Requirements:

  • Continuous sitting
  • Able to lift, pull or push up to 25 pounds

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary - $80,000-$90,000 dependent on experience
