We offer premium and economical cannabis products for our patients and customers and we are constantly expanding our selection. We are in search of a Cannabis Confection Assistant to aid in the production of high-quality Cannabis Edibles and Concentrates. The goal is to optimize kitchen and cooking procedures to successfully create consistent, safe, delicious, quality Edibles. Communication skills, organization, attention to safety, detail and time management are critical to the success of our Kitchen and to the continued success of Northeast Alternatives.

Shift: Monday-Friday 2:30pm-10:30 pm (PM Shift)

Job Objectives

The Assistant Confectioner reports to the Confectioners, Kitchen Supervisors, MIP Manager and works collaboratively to achieve the same goals of the department. The ultimate objective of the Assistant Confectioner is to assist the kitchen staff to produce good quality MIP products and to complete all daily goals. The Assistant Confectioner is a full-time position and may be required to work overtime.

Essential Duties and Tasks:

• Ensure that the production tasks are completed and that production goals are met on a daily basis
• Operate equipment appropriately
• Weighing raw materials for production batches, handling extract and other cannabis products, weighing and de-molding completed batches, and visual quality control checking of products
• Weighing and collecting test samples for completed batches
• Breaking down the kitchen equipment, cleaning after production, cleaning washing molds and dishes, following kitchen sanitation procedures
• Follow directions and instructions
• Understanding the NEA quality standards of MIP products daily
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work environment
• Maintain a reliable attendance record
• Communicate effectively with management and the rest of the kitchen staff
• Observes lunch and meal breaks appropriately
