The Assistant Branch Manager supports the Branch Manager with day-to-day operations, provides sales leadership and guidance to staff members. Monitors service and sales quality and mentors staff to achieve goals. The Assistant Branch Manager performs a variety of complex activities to serve members by providing exceptional member service with the highest degree of accuracy and professionalism while fully exploring member needs and recommending appropriate products and services. The Assistant Branch Manager assists with monthly coaching and staff development, annual performance reviews and disciplinary action for staff under the direction of the Branch Manager.

Assistant Branch Manager supports, adopts and promotes our corporate values of member service, teamwork, commitment, performance and professional competency.

Qualifications:

· Branch Experience Required

· Credit Union Background with Teller Line and Platform Experience Required

· Minimum of 1 year supervisory of staff Required

· Knowledge of Jack Henry Symitar/Episys preferred.

Duties/Responsibilities

· Manages Branch Operations when the manager is absent.

· Demonstrate PFFCU’s core values, promoting our mission and vision.

· Has a thorough and comprehensive understanding of all retail products and services and sufficient understanding of all credit union services to recommend solutions to meet member needs.

· Maintain a comprehensive knowledge on related policies, procedures, rules and regulations.

· Ensures on-going compliance with audit procedures and other applicable guidelines.

· Opens/Closes the branch, adheres to all security procedures during these processes.

· Coaches staff on a regular basis to improve sales/operational skills for the betterment of the staff member, team and credit union.

· Review and Approve Timecards in accordance with labor laws and PFFCU Policy.

· Celebrate success and motivate staff to achieve goals.

· Oversees staff adherence to performance expectations, completing performance improvement plans, verbal/written warnings as needed.

· Execute on short term and long-term strategic goals.

· Monitor Teller and Sales activities to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.

· Attract, retain, and develop talent to successfully achieve assigned goals.

· Champion a culture of leadership, responsibility, accountability, and continual improvement with all staff members.

· Must obtain Notary designation within 90 days of employment.

· May be required to provide coverage for branches other than the primary branch assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Branch Manager, the Assistant Branch Manager supervises assigned staff members – Service and Sales. Provides support, overrides, guidance to staff on member service issues. Coach staff to meet position expectations and sales goals.

  • Strong Leadership skills to motivate staff and encourage a learning and growth atmosphere.
  • Strong problem-solving skills having the ability to solve member service issues as well as workplace conflicts as they arise (staff conflicts or technical difficulties)
  • Exceptional Member Service skills with both members and staff.
  • Understanding of banking regulatory matters and procedures for proper operation.
  • Ability to perform various banking procedures and operations.
  • Ability to remain professional and composed under pressure.
  • Proficient with Computers and Various Software systems, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, Jack Henry Symitar/Episys, etc.

Retail management is hired for all Branch locations and may be called to transfer to other branch locations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
