North Clackamas Aquatic Park is one of the North Clackamas Parks and Recreation District's (NCPRD) facilities. NCPRD is a division of Clackamas County. The Aquatic Park was constructed in 1994 and serves over 200,000 patrons annual thru a variety of Health and Safety opportunities.

Aquatic Building Maintenance & Janitorial - Part-time temporary

*This is public employee/government position. This position does not include medical, dental or vision benefit.

Class Characteristics

The Service Maintenance Worker classification is utilized in several departments in the County. Positions are typically assigned to North Clackamas Aquatic Park. The primary functions are focused on maintenance of building facilities.

The Service Maintenance Worker is responsible for performing minor building maintenance as well as janitorial tasks to facilitate the efficient operations and upkeep of facilities.

Distinguishing Characteristics

The North Clackamas Parks and Recreation District provides aquatic, park, recreation, education and social services to senior citizens, students and other County residents within the park district boundaries.

The Aquatics Center has five indoor water attractions, including slides, wave pool, activity pool, children’s pool, competitive pool, diving well, hot tub, as well as concessions and conference rooms.

Typical Tasks

Duties may include but are not limited to the following:

• Performs minor building and repair tasks; (Building) washes windows; hoses down locker room surfaces; cleans and sanitizes locker room areas; removes garbage; Conducts daily walk-around inspections;
• Performs building janitorial and cleaning tasks; (Building) Scrubs, strips, and polishes floor surfaces; operates vacuums, pool vacuums, buffers, and other cleaning equipment as specified;
• Performs a variety of building maintenance support functions; Moves furniture and sets up rooms; assists with meeting room and birthday party cleanup;

Required Knowledge and Skills

Working Knowledge of:

Routine maintenance methods and practices; safety and accident prevention practices; customer and public service techniques; basic record keeping and reporting methods; safe practices and procedures of handling chemicals and equipment;

-Routine commercial janitorial maintenance methods and practices;

Skill to:

Skill to: Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, supervisors, and the public.

-Operate carpet extractors, buffers, vacuums and other cleaning and polishing equipment; operate paint spraying and pressure washing equipment; stand for extended periods of time, and walk, stoop, sit, kneel, grasp, and bend; use wrists, hands and fingers in a repetitive motion; lift and carry up to 50 pounds; push, pull, lift and carry a variety of supplies and equipment;

Other Requirements

**Must pass a pre-employment drug test.

**Must successfully pass a criminal history check which may include national or state fingerprint records check.

Minimum Recruiting Standards

Any satisfactory combination of experience and training that demonstrates possession of the required knowledge and skills.

Pay: $17.45 - $21.90 per hour
