Application Analyst I - Job at UT Southwestern
Job Summary
UT Southwestern is looking to hire an Application Analyst I in their IR Health Sys EMR department. This position will function as the primary support analyst for these service lines and Inpatient units - Urology, Otolaryngology, Zale Intensive Care, Acute Care, Psychiatric and Rehabilitation units secondary, or backup analyst, for the following service lines: Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Neurology, Neurosurgery and outpatient Psychiatry. This position also provides secondary or backup support for the Epic ABN functionality, facility charging, and integration of the EMR with both internal and external software. The position will service these programs/initiatives at their UTSW campus location as well as all satellite locations spanning from Richardson/Plano, Ft. Worth Lewisville to Sherman.
Experience and Education
Required:
Bachelors degree in business administration, computer science or other field with HIT certification. Previous exposure to healthcare and/or electronic records is desired but not required.
Preferred:
Experience in EpicCare Ambulatory, EpicCare Inpatient or EpicCare Inpatient Orders experience is desirable or a Certification in any other Epic Clinical Application will be considered.
Job Duties:
Provide workflow assistance, trouble-shooting and support for mission critical HSIR systems with assistance.
Provide on-call after-hours support.
Develop and maintain competency on pertinent applications and technologies within a specified timeframe.
Participate in system maintenance by utilizing analytical skills for issue resolution, enhancement development, project participation and version upgrades with oversight.
Follow change management procedure for any system changes.
Assist in testing of new applications and changes to existing applications ensuring integrity and quality of data while providing and/or assisting in training of system users.
Assist in developing appropriate process/policy documentation.
Manage multiple tasks/work on multiple projects simultaneously with guidance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
