AMG Aluminum (AMG Al) is seeking competent Alloying Assistants to support our growing organization and all aspects of manufacturing and aluminum alloy production. The crew will count on you for various crucial tasks, from preparing necessary ingredients, operating machinery such as forklifts and overhead cranes, and keeping the work area organized and free of debris. Responsibilities

• Comply with all AMG Al policies and procedures, safety and environmental requirements, and AMG's Business Code of Conduct
• Set up heat additions (product ingredients) using Company Standard Operation Procedures, identifying all raw materials and remelt used.
• Inspect and stack aluminum ingots per specifications. Weigh and identify product in each heat. Take required samples.
• Transfer heats from the making furnace to the casting station. Maintain a clean transfer ladle.
• Assist rod mill crew during start-up operations.
• Correctly color code, package, finish and approve final product per Company specifications.
• Collect and record all necessary data in log books and on product.
• Assist the Furnace Operator as needed
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Perform other duties as may be required

Qualification Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent life experience required
• Experience in manufacturing environment desired, steel or hot metal experience a plus
• Team player
• Receptive and adaptable to change
• Knowledge or desire to learn lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methods
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must
• Ability to work 8-12 hour shifts, and rotating shifts (weekends included)
• Ability to work in both hot and cold environments where temperature can swing rapidly
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, and lifting 50 pounds is required.
• Strong work ethic and good attention to detail
• Punctual, reliable, have a good attendance history
• A valid driver’s license

Shift Premiums:

Swing Shift (2pm-10pm): Employees working during this shift receive an additional $.30 per hour.

Graveyard (10pm-2am): Employees working during this shift receive an additional $.35 per hour.
