THE DEPARTMENT

There are several teams within the Air Operations department: Air Contracting & Ticketing, Group Air, Staff Travel, and Air Reservations & Support. With many GFOB vacations beginning and ending with air, these teams strive to support guests in securing air as part of their travel plans while providing excellent customer service in an ever-changing environment

THE POSITION

The Airline Revenue Analyst is responsible for the following results:

  • Examine Air Income from tours and tour air expense utilizing current back office accounting systems and data to ensure air profitability. Report monthly adhering to executive deadlines (KPI reports)
  • Manage Group Air Pricing systems and assist in maintaining Group Air prices that are both competitive and profitable
  • Review ad-hoc group contracts as received and begin to document rules and policies, strengths and weaknesses by carrier/destination in a group air library
  • With direction from management, set and maintain Air Margins using current technology
  • Oversee analysis of revenue and booking trends on a regular basis, providing multiple views with emphasis on opportunities or risks
  • Seek out, analyze and monitor systemic booking issues and “no air” booking issues and alert the appropriate authority (IT, Vendor, Air Contracting, Air Director, etc.) for recommendations or repair
  • Aid and conduct business intelligence analysis, overseeing collection and analysis on competitor pricing and policies
  • Research airline mergers, partnerships, and policy changes for potential impact on our business
  • Proactively seek out potential operational disruptions (labor actions, severe weather etc.) and ensure that management and the department have the data needed to respond appropriately
  • Monitor industry trends to ensure GVI keeps up with significant changes in Air product distribution whether driven by GDS, carriers, or other vendors
  • Support changes in systems and automation initiatives with respect to Air Operations
  • Oversee Air Operations data collection and reporting using current available Database tools
  • Partner with the Air Contract Analysts to ensure adequate contracts are available for land products sold
  • Contributing to a team effort by accomplishing related results or projects as needed
  • This position may require travel including nights and weekends

EDUCATION

The preferred candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; or three to five years of related experience and/or training in tour operations, agency or airline industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

The preferred candidate has noteworthy experience in the following areas:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Air systems, GDS (specifically Sabre), industry knowledge
  • Cyberquery, Excel, Siebel systems knowledge/expertise preferred
  • Strong business acumen
  • Accuracy a must utilizing multiple data sources
  • Microsoft office, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook and Access
