Aircraft Repair Technician

Location: Goldsboro, NC (100% Onsite)

Hourly Rate: $25.00 - $28.00

Duration: 12 months, possible extension

Benefits: Per Diem Available, overtime possible, medical, dental, 401K

Our client prefers that candidates have an active/current DoD Secret Personnel Clearance (PCL) to start, BUT client will accept candidates without active/current PCL BUT candidates must be eligible and able to apply upon hire for DoD Secret Personnel Clearance (PCL) for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

Education and Experience:

· High School Diploma OR GED plus 4 or more years’ experience in aircraft modification and repair.

· This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

· Must have own hand tools.

· Must be willing to work nights and overtime as required on short notice.

· Some travel may be required.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

· Able to perform connector terminations including shielded wires, coaxial cables, and fiber optic wiring. Ability and understanding of routing instructions and handling of harnesses. Perform efforts associated with sealing, wrapping, bonding, tying, and closure of wire harnesses and cables in accordance with standard processes. Demonstrates the capability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specification, and retrofit requirements to perform electrical modification/repair. Experienced in the use of tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot level modification and repair of electrical wiring. Responsible for the proper performance of assignments and the prudent handling of product, tools and equipment. Considerable care and judgment required to fit and adjust parts and assemblies to requirements and specifications and in performing various assembly and installation operations. Work with the guidance of Management and peers.

· Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes. Oversees assembly, disassembly or overhaul. Configures aerospace vehicles and bench test equipment. Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components. Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components. Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (e.g., repairs, test results, applicable modifications and inspection results). Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements. Oversees training. Works under general direction.
