Qualifications:

The preferred candidate for this position will have teaching experience and a graduate degree in Education Administration (or at a minimum be in the process of gaining an endorsement in Educational Administration).


General Statement of Duties:

The After School Programs Administrator will fulfill the duties of planning, overseeing, and organizing activities and the daily function of the various afterschool programs, such as the WELL, night school programs, and adult education program. The work hours for this full-time role will correspond with the times of the various afterschool programs.


Essential Functions:

  • Be familiar with Hopewell City Public Schools Policies and procedures
  • Serve as liaison between Hopewell City Public Schools and partner agencies
  • Oversee daily activities, events, and operation of the afterschool programs, in partnership with staff for the individual programs
  • Work with the staff of after school programs to develop procedures and monitor student activities
  • Attend all special events that are part of the programs
  • Perform any of the following tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor
    • Prepare reports
    • Review and revise handbooks, policies and procedures as is necessary
    • Select, supervise, and evaluate personnel
    • Recruit and train volunteers into the program
    • Provide orientation for all volunteers and staff
    • Plan and facilitate activities and trainings
    • Develop and maintain a calendar of events, including development of ongoing flyers and other communication
    • Make recommendations to the immediate supervisor in regards to programs and procedures
    • Work with the community to engage youth in the programs
    • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Attend community functions as needed
