The following position is to join our Corporate or Research Center Team:

Aero-Thermal Test & Validation Engineer

The Aero-Thermal Testing Group at Raytheon Technologies Research Center is seeking a candidate to support experimental testing and test facility operations. The position requires analytical engineering skills and hands-on experience in the assembly, instrumentation, installation, testing and troubleshooting of test articles and test facility support systems. Activities will include experimental test program planning and execution, day-to-day test operations, ensuring the validity and accuracy of experimental data, and effective communication with team members. The selected candidate will also assist with periodic safety audits, test system maintenance, and the application of Environmental Health and Safety rules. Due to the nature of the experimental testing, flexible scheduling and multi-shift test support will be required.

Basic Qualifications:

• Experimental test execution and test facility operations troubleshooting.
• Test planning and documentation.
• Fluid dynamics and pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Data acquisition (steady state and dynamic), processing and analysis, and test instrumentation (Labview, MATLAB).
• Compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety rules and regulations.
• Good communication and teaming skills are a must.
• US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Present US Government Security Clearance.
• Aero combustor, compressor or similar testing.

Education:

• The candidate should have a B.S. in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related engineering field. The preferred candidate will have a Master’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• Bachelor’s candidates with a minimum of 2 years of work experience post degree in experimental test engineering .
• Master's degreed candidates will be reviewed for this position.

Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience.

Engineering/Other Technical Positions:

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics(STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
