Pay Range:* $20.70 - $21.86

Summary:

Identification and assessing of gifted and talented students. Communicating and collaborating with classroom teachers and families to develop and update Advanced Learning Plan (ALP) goals.


Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate and coordinate with classroom teachers in developing and updating Advanced Learning Plan (ALP) goals.
  • Maintain and update Advanced Learning Plans (ALP).
  • Communicate regularly with classroom teachers and families.
  • Organize and administer GT identification assessments.
  • Collect a body of evidence to be used in the GT identification process.
  • Coordinate enrichment activities as appropriate.
  • Promote understanding and respect for gifted education and gifted learners.
  • Serve as an advocate for students as appropriate.
  • Participate in staff meetings or professional development activities as appropriate.
  • Participate in conferences between families, parents, administrators, teachers, counselors and students as appropriate.
  • Participate in district Gifted and Talented Advisor meetings.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to increase understanding of gifted learners and gifted education.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, plus a minimum of two years college.
  • Communicate (read, write, and speak) in English.
  • Completed and submitted BVSD online application.

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children.
  • Background in education/gifted education.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, school staff, and administrators.
  • Ability to plan, organize and see a project through to completion.

Salary Information:

Salary Placement varies according to experience and education.

  • Pay range listed above is for employees newly hired to BVSD or current BVSD employees that are new to the employee group (existing employees currently in this unit please refer to the pay range on the appropriate salary schedule). BVSD engages in a salary placement process vs. a salary negotiation process. This information is provided in compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and is the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation range and benefits offered for this position. The compensation offered to the successful applicant may vary based on factors including experience and education.
