Description:
The provider will perform primary healthcare, education and health promotion for patients within the scope of his/her practice according to Washington State regulations. The provider will consult with a sponsoring physician or designated alternate in areas requiring additional medical guidance and/or referral.
Minimum qualifications:

  • Current Washington State RN license & Current Washinton State ARNP license or
  • Current Washington State Physician Assistant license
  • Current American Heart Association or equivalent BLS and ACLS certification or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Primary job responsibilities:

  • Participate in the administrative aspects of clinical practice.
  • Participates in the development of departmental practices and protocols as appropriate.
  • Practices within the guidelines established by the American Medical Association.
  • Maintains professional standards in the clinic and hospital settings.
  • Performs in a calm, professional manner during crisis situations.
  • Makes sound judgements based upon factual information.
  • Perceives potential problems and intervenes, utilizing measures that provide ethical solutions for the client/family.
  • Develops and implements teaching interventions aimed at preparing the client for achieving and maintaining optimal health status.
  • Assesses client’s health status knowledge and develops teaching plan in accordance with this assessment.
  • Uses sound judgement in making independent decision in caring for clinic clients
  • Communicates with physicians appropriately as indicated in departmental protocol and per licensure requirements.
  • Establishes treatment priorities based upon approved medical diagnoses.
  • Communicates effectively when acting as a representative of the center.
  • Promotes harmonious relationships with clients, visitors, and co-workers.
  • Communicates openly with physicians regarding care of client.
  • Advocates for client by explaining all procedures and treatments to the patient before they occur
  • Documents all actions in patient record as appropriate.
  • Maintains documentation of contacts and interventions within the client’s medical records.
  • Document care delivered and patient’s response in client’s medical record.
  • This position has regular and recurrent direct clinical contact with: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults and Geriatrics.
  • The employee assesses and adjusts care/treatment to be compatible with the age, growth and development and needs of the patients.
  • The employee assesses patient’s level of understanding and adjusts care appropriately.
  • Provides patient and/or family with information about the department environment.
  • Provides patient and/or family with information about the various aspects of the procedures/treatment.
  • Provides patient and/or family with information about the various aspects of the plan of care.
  • Portrays calm, reassuring manner when caring for patients and family.
  • Develop or contributes to the individual plan of care relating to the developmental age and needs of the Utilizes supplies, equipment and instruments in relation to size and age of the patient
  • Assesses physical age-related changes, e.g.: vision, hearing, skin condition.
  • Assesses age-related psycho/social issues, e.g.: educational needs, community resources, spiritual/cultural needs.
  • Assesses adjustment of dosage of medication relating to age and size.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Follows guidelines established at time of assignment.
  • Prioritizes workload to ensure timely completion of assignments. Accepts assignments willingly.
  • Asks appropriate clarifying questions relative to scope of assignment.
