Stillwater Area Public Schools are currently seeking an Adult Basic Education Teacher to work at the Cimarron: Family Means Youth Center. The ABE teacher plans and delivers instruction to adult learners who want to improve their English language, reading, writing, or math skills in preparation for the GED test, employment or post-secondary education. The teacher also assesses student progress to guide instruction and establishes individual learning plans and appropriate curriculum for adult students of varying abilities.
The position is part-time during the school year. (1-2 days per week, for appoximately 3 hr/day)
A current Minnesota teaching license is required. Experience teaching adults and working in a team instruction environment is preferred. Applicants must have the ability to relate well to adults from a variety of cultural backgrounds and with varying skill levels in reading, writing and math.
