PRIMARY DUTY: Adjunct instructor position teaching undergraduate courses in the School of Computer Science and Information Systems. Applicants would be in a pool of potential adjuncts to teach face-to- face or online courses during the Summer, Fall or Spring term. Courses include digital literacy, computer applications, information systems, and computer programming.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Teach face-to-face or online courses within School of Computer Science and Information Systems for Northwest Missouri State University
  • Collaborate with Northwest colleagues to deliver quality/rigorous courses
  • Support University initiatives related to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback to students to help them monitor their progress and support learning
  • Utilize Northwest Online learning management system to integrate appropriate technologies into the course to aid in student success

REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Graduate degree in Instructional Technology, Computer Science, or related field
Experience: Prior teaching experience, face-to-face or online; experience in teaching and learning with an online learning management system

EXPERIENCE:
Depending on the position:


  • Multimedia in areas of audio, video, and online educational/technology tools
  • Web design, HTML/CSS
  • Computer programming in Python or Java
  • Information Systems

WORKING CONDITIONS: Collaborative team-based faculty working in an academic environment

EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS USED: Canvas, Northwest’s Online Learning Management System, and technology enhanced online resources
