What You Will Be Doing
Under general supervision, this position performs as a lead level technician that processes accounting adjustments, prepares accounting reports, serves as a trainer and software integration specialist, prepares guidelines for conducting A&A/SDU functions, drafts and maintains procedures and documents, curates and manages digital media, monitors internal controls, troubleshoots system generated errors, performs quality control and monitors the progress and completion of assigned tasks within the child support Audit and Adjustment section.

Incumbent is responsible for the efficient accomplishment of accounting audit and adjustment activities. This includes planning short-and long-term goals, mentoring staff, assisting with implementing development training plans, assigning duties to individual staff members, coordinating workflow within the section, and controlling the use of resources.

Who We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will possess many of the following core competencies:
  • Experience training and instructing personnel.
  • Experience creating and maintaining complex documents utilizing MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS OneNote programs.

  • Possess strong knowledge of child support business processes.
  • Possess knowledge and analytical skills necessary to analyze Audit and Adjustment’s records and processes for accuracy and completeness.
  • Possess considerable knowledge of accounting procedures, practices, methods, techniques, and terminology used within child support business processes.
  • Possess working knowledge of techniques and methods used in reconciliation of accounts, auditing, and automated accounting systems.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as a team member and apply diligence in creating and maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Possess outstanding interpersonal, communication and time management skills.
  • Possess stress management skills and ability to handle frequent interruptions

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of technical level accounting or bookkeeping experience, of which at least one year was at the full-proficiency level.

Substitutions:
Certification as an Accounting Technician from an accredited college will substitute for one year of the required experience at the non-full-proficiency level.

Post secondary education from an accredited college will substitute for up to one year of the required experience at the non-full-proficiency level (3 semester/4 quarter hours equal one month) if it includes at least 6 semester/8 quarter hours in Accounting.

Post secondary education from an accredited college will substitute for the required two years of experience (3 semester/4 quarter hours equal one month) if it includes at least 9 semester/12 quarter hours at or above the 200 level in Accounting.

An associate’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration from an accredited college will substitute for the required two years of experience if it includes at least 6 semester/8 quarter hours at or above the 200 level in Accounting.
