Accountant – Financial Reporting

Minimum 1+ Years’ experience in Accounting

Venteon is currently seeking an Accountant – Financial Reporting to fill an opening with an Industry Leader and Employer of Choice with headquarters in the Metro Detroit area. The ideal candidate will be a critical contributor to the company’s overall financial success.

Requirements of the Accountant – Financial Reporting

• Bachelor’s degree in either Accounting or Finance or relevant, equivalent experience and/or education.
• 1-2 years of Accounting (Public Accounting or Corporate Accountant) experience.
• Working knowledge of GAAP, SEC reporting is preferred.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment.
• Ability to research and analyze various types of data.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and strong teamwork and organizational skills.
• Ability to utilize technology to complete daily assignments.
• Knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to multi-task as well as reprioritize and balance workload based on changing needs.

Responsibilities of the Accountant – Financial Reporting

Participate in the accurate preparation of external financial statements and related information in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and various state financial reporting requirements. Supports financial reporting and other activities for Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

• Assist with compilation of financial statements and footnotes for external reports.
• Supports financial reporting activity to be used in support of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements.
• Support financial reporting activity for debt issuances and other transactions.
• Support processes relating to reporting under XBRL.
• Perform research for various accounting and reporting matters.
• Provide support of annual audit and quarterly reviews for financial reporting related items.
• Review financial statements for accuracy and assist with quarterly support preparation.
• Performs quality reviews and data checks for external filings and other regulatory and GAAP financial statements.
• Drive efficient business processes using technology solutions and data gathering.
