ACCOUNTANT

SUMMARY: Supports daily accounting activities for the health centers and departments within the health centers.
SUPERVISOR: Accounting Manager

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and maintain accurate records for all grant reporting.
  • Assist with weekly check runs.
  • Prepare accounting lead schedules, related work papers, and analysis as needed.
  • Review general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries as required.
  • Create bi-weekly payroll entries from the payroll software and related reports.
  • Prepare and post monthly, quarterly, and yearly accruals to the general ledger.
  • Prepare month-end reconciliations and reports, including bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Enter month-end entries as assigned
  • Assist with day-to-day, monthly, year-end operations, and audit preparation for the fiscal department as requested.
  • Assist with Medicare cost report schedules
  • Assist in other tasks as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
  • Organizational skills in managing flow of paper and/or electronic files and records.
  • Strong technical accounting skills.
  • Strong MS office skills, EHR (Electronic Health Record), and Netsuite skills a plus.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience, Bachelors or a higher degree preferred.
LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Valid Drivers License
COMPLIANCE:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less). The employee will occasionally be working near moving mechanical parts, be exposed to outdoor weather conditions and exposed to a risk of electrical shock while running the copier, printer, other standard equipment and answering the telephone. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate. Stress level can be high at times.
