Who You Are: You like to eat what you sell and have been in CPG sales roles for at least 5 years, preferably in the Alt Channels, Convenience, and/or Foodservice space. You have cultivated relationships across a variety of retail partners, and you pride yourself on your ability to turn leads into sales. You know how to be pleasantly persistent and manage customers across several channels in an organized fashion. You are comfortable “owning” your business, both creating and executing short- and long-term strategy, and thrive in an environment where you can run with loose direction. You don’t wait to do tomorrow what can be accomplished today and are known for consistently bringing new opportunities and ideas to the table. You are familiar with the nuances of the Alt Channel distribution network and have experience seeding a smaller brand with one of the larger players. And last, but not least, you are a team player who is passionate about organic food sales.
The Task At Hand: We are looking for an experienced Account Manager to lead our Alt Channels business at Once Upon A Farm. This person will oversee the implementation of all sales strategies and priorities across convenience, drug, travel, lodging, on-premise, food service, parks, and beyond, to increase Once Upon A Farm’s penetration in Alternate Channels. This will entail working at both strategic and tactical levels to help develop, implement, and manage sales leads and follow through that help both short and long-range objectives for the company’s sales growth. This individual will work in very close collaboration with the Director of Sales, in addition to other cross-functional, internal teams (Marketing, Business Development, Trade, Customer Service, Ops/Supply, etc.). The Alt Channel Sales Manager will closely engage with Once Upon A Farm’s distributor partners that support the business and always conduct business in a way that aligns with the mission of Once Upon A Farm.

In This Role, You Will:
  • Drive Gross Sales
o Achieve volume targets by flawlessly executing against strategic priorities
o Lead the distributors, accounts, and any merchandising team members to overdrive sales execution and results
o Build an accurate forecast and ensure its implementation across our distributor partners
o Help build, manage, and execute the territory expansion strategy

  • Grow Market Share
o Have expert knowledge of category and competition
o Proactively communicate and develop plans for sales/share/category/competition
o Identify business opportunities and help support sales efforts to help close white space opportunities

  • Engage
o Ensure all POS materials are utilized effectively in the market
o Work with broker partners as necessary
o Attend trade shows, and meetings, and actively solicit new business opportunities

  • Business Relationships and Communication
o Develop, foster, and maintain strong internal and customer/distributor relationships while ensuring proper communication of vital information
o Regularly update and communicate sales priority progress to internal OFarm team members
o Develop and monitor business scorecards; define clear account penetration, sales, and share

  • Data Analytics and Reporting
o Analyze the distributor, DSD, or other merchandising team’s work to identify key areas for focus
Must Haves:
  • Minimum 5 years of retail sales with at least two years spent directly selling and/or providing sales support focusing on distributor management, convenience, drug on-premise, lodging, or other relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated success working with cross-functional teams
  • Strong planning and organizational skills along with excellent interpersonal, written/oral communication, and presentation skills
  • Proven success in sales leadership with respected consumer packaged goods companies
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Outlook, Slack, and other professional platforms
  • Up to 20% travel required: Although this role is a remote work-from-home position, we “Farmers” do meet as a company and/or as a department a few times a year. Additionally, this role will travel to trade shows up to a few times each quarter.

Compensation:
Full-time salaried. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $130,000.00. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a few factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
