Eagle Harbor Solutions, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a 508 Compliance Tester to join a development team supporting both established projects and building applications from the ground up. The ideal candidate is an experienced leader and team player that is passionate about technology and committed to lifelong learning, possessing the ability to apply their technical knowledge, skills, and experience to solve complex/real-world problems. Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance to support EHS and our government customer. This position is Remote.

Position Overview:
The successful candidate must have experience with 508 Compliance testing of web software applications. The ability to interpret WCAG 2.0 Accessibility Guidelines, develop test procedures around those guidelines, and provide accessibility design guidance to the development and UI/UX teams are key this position.

Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • 508 Compliance testing to WCAG 2.0 guidelines.
  • Coordinate and prioritize 508 Compliance testing activities.
  • Ability to troubleshoot software 508 Compliance issues.
  • Provide design guidance for 508 compliance issue remediation.
  • Participate in an Agile software development process.
  • Create and manage 508 compliance defects in bug tracking tool.
Requirements:
  • Experience with standard accessibility tools and techniques such as screen readers and keyboard navigation techniques.
  • Experience with accessibility test tools such as browser plugins and document checkers.
  • Demonstrated experience in 508 Compliance test execution and working directly with product development teams to resolve accessibility issues.
  • Working knowledge of HTML 5 and CSS.
  • Experience with Quality Assurance best practices and testing methodologies.
  • Experience with commercial bug tracking systems.
  • Working knowledge Microsoft Office tool suite.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Excellent analytical and debugging skills.
  • Ability to work with multiple development teams and software projects.
  • Self-driven individual with strong organizational, administrative and communication skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to articulate test results, user impacts and remediation options and provide defensible rationale for accessibility compliance.
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with GSA Government Section 508 Accessibility requirements.
  • Creation of test planning and reporting documentation.
  • Experience with executing both functional and usability testing.
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and SQL scripting.
  • VMware Server/Desktop Virtualization.
Experience/Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree-preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar discipline-or equivalent work experience (at least 10 years) is required.
  • A minimum of seven years of structured software quality assurance engineering experience (with emphasis in 508 Compliance testing) is required.
  • 3 +years’ experience of dedicated 508 Compliance test creation and execution.
Working Environment & Conditions
This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress. The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
