American Wood Fibers, Inc. is hiring a Second Shift Production Lead at our facility in Jessup, MD.

Our company was established in 1966 and produces a variety of wood products including wood shavings packaged for animal bedding as well as industrial and bio-fuel products. AWF’s mission in manufacturing sustainable forestry products is our way in making a positive contribution to the environment through total waste utilization, use of pre-consumed materials, and development of environmentally friendly products. Since established, our family has grown to include 11 production facilities across the United States with over 450 employees. We process raw materials using industrial equipment including baling machines, hammermills, grinders, and mobile equipment, which is then packaged for sale.

The 2nd Shift Lead will primarily work on industrial baling machinery producing and palletizing baled finished goods. Second Shift Lead will occasionally operate mobile equipment including forklift, front-end loader, and yard jockey to move 48’ and 53’ trailers in the yard in a safe manner. This role also functions as support for the shift supervisor. The selected candidate will participate in production planning and coordination to maximize productivity, communicating daily tasks and responsibilities to 2nd shift employees, implementing quality control procedures, enforcement of safety rules, processing paperwork for shipping and receiving, and other duties as assigned.

Second Shift Production Lead qualifications:

• Ability to repetitively lift up to 50 lbs.
• Physical capability to bend, squat, or stoop
• Experience in manufacturing, general labor, packaging goods
• Ability to operate a forklift, loader, and yard jockey
• Basic computer skills
