We are opening a brand-new, 1.1m square foot distribution facility close to Ellabell, Georgia - and we are looking for experienced, people-oriented leaders to join our team and contribute to the start-up of the operation. BASIC OVERVIEW

The Yard Jockey is responsible for safely moving trailers between dock doors and parking locations, as required for receiving and shipping needs and assisting carrier in preparing tandem shipping loads for transit. They will also work in our shipping department when no trailers require moving, operating forklift and prepping orders for shipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Properly inspect tractor and trailer for any damage or unsafe operating conditions before use.
• Cross train in our warehouse and meet shipping expectations when not moving trailers.
• Safely operating and maintaining warehouse equipment to carry out job duties to ensure a safe work environment
• Communicating with warehouse shipping supervisor with any issues or concerns that arise regarding work duties
• Performing other duties and tasks not listed as requested by the shipping supervisor or team leader

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a distribution environment; shipping, receiving and/or inventory experience preferred
• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must possess a valid CDL Class A license and have a safe driving record
• At least two years of CDL A driving experience
• Must be able to communicate effectively with distribution center managers and delivery location staff
• Must be willing to work and drive outside in all weather conditions

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

• Must be able to pass a DOT Physical
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to quickly adapt as business needs change; ability to address difficult situations with diplomacy and emotional intelligence
• Customer service-oriented attitude with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Work is performed while standing and/or walking, up to and including 10-12 hours/day depending on shift
• Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision,and hearing
• Requires the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
• Requires regular bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching
• Requires the ability to regularly lift/ carry 50-75lbs. and push/pullup to 150lbs

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. Occasional activities may involve exposure to marked changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes and gases. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The passage of employees through the work area is average and normal.

SHIFT SCHEDULE

• Monday-Thursday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, this position may require scheduled overtime

• Starting wage is $21.00/hr with a $0.25 raise at 60 days and a potential up to $0.88 in raises every 6 months
