POSITION SUMMARY:

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of experience in the medical device manufacturing industry, have excellent workmanship standards, be willing to work overtime, and strive to improve quality and manufacturing processes daily.

Operate and maintain Swiss Machines (Citizen L-20, M-32, K-16) to manufacture products, maintain quality and safety standards, check product and recording measurement characteristics, maintain traceability and complete required documentation, perform preventative maintenance on machines and equipment as required.

Regulate machining factors like speed, feed, coolant flow, depth, and angle of cut. Command, retrieve, input, and edit CNC programs, detect errors and adjust as needed.

Assist in general housekeeping general cleanliness of work areas.

Machine parts to specification, perform measurements, visual checks, and examine results on all products for visual and dimensional defects to ensure conformance using precision instruments like microscopes, micrometers, calipers, Micro-Vu, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

1. Operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations as assigned.

2. Strive for continuous improvement and work with high product integrity and be dedicated to acting in accordance with the company’s safety and quality policies.

3. Consult with Operations Manager concerning new/challenging product design and tooling needs to ensure efficient production methods.

4. Confirm preparations are made prior to starting operation of the “next job” in cue.

5. Assist in the design of fixtures and tooling needs.

6. Manufacture product to customer and industry standards and specifications per job travelers and work instructions.

7. Inspect parts for accuracy as required per quality training process.

8. Adhere to traceability and documentation procedures and utilize prevention/detection methods for every manufacturing task.

9. Effectively communicate with Operations Manager providing updates on run times, scheduling, and machine-related activities.

10. Assist with root-cause evaluations on equipment, tooling, fixtures, processes, and material to determine the cause of non-conformances and defects. Adjust and reprograms controls, adjust feed and speeds, sharpen and replace worn tooling.

11. Calculate dimensions or tolerances per print specifications.

12. Diagnoses machine tool malfunctions to define the need for adjustments or repairs.

13. Other duties as assigned.

14. Work overtime and weekends as required.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

·A minimum 1 year of experience in operating CNC Swiss (Citizen) machines

·Proficient in mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and measurement and the ability to apply them to daily activities (machining, inspection, troubleshooting, etc.)

·Implement “outside the box” process improvements.

·Hold close tolerances as required.

·Proficient in the use of basic inspection tools and interpretation of blueprints.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:

  • Effective writing and communication skills.
  • Manage, prioritize and complete assigned tasks accurately and expeditiously as needed.
  • Close attention to accuracy and detail orientated.
  • Must have a good understanding of CAD/CAM technology—good mechanical and technical skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Lift and/or move up to 30 pounds

Pay: From $27.00 per hour
